The Indigo Jewelry Backstory

Born from romance and a love of world cultures and artistic expression, Indigo Designs founders Barry and Sheryl Cowen met in the remote mountains of Guatemala where they were both pursuing their mutual passion for travel. They instantly fell in love, and together they traveled to South East Asia where they explored the immense artistry and creativity of the people of Bali Indonesia and Thailand. They soon founded Indigo Designs out of their small log cabin nestled amongst the giant redwoods in the coastal mountains of Santa Cruz, California. After that magical start in 1992, they began to incorporate their own designs into the Indigo Jewelry collection and their customer base grew rapidly. It wasn’t long before Indigo Jewelry became the popular and sought-after boutique brand that it is today.
